Vidyuttam 6.0 begins on 10 October at 09:00 IST. Two days. One live system.
Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar was established in 1995 with Mining Engineering as its only branch. Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering were added in 1997. In 2006, the Government of Odisha declared it a constituent college of BPUT, Odisha under self-sustaining mode.
Mineral Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering were added in 2008 and 2009 respectively, followed by Computer Science & Engineering and Civil Engineering in 2015.
The Department of Electrical Engineering started in 1997. The B.Tech curriculum includes electrical machines, power systems, power electronics, control, electronics, communication, signal processing and artificial intelligence.
Higher-semester study includes FACTS, HVDC, power quality, protection and transients, soft computing, signal processing, power electronics and applications.

Students undertake projects across control systems, power systems and optimization, power electronics and drives, communication, microprocessor and microcontroller systems, PLC-based systems and related software fields.

INDUSTRY
Summer training exposes students to industrial environments including RSP, NALCO, HAL, NTPC, TTPS, GRIDCO, OHPC and OPTCL.
Innovatory Electrical Society is a student-driven platform dedicated to innovation, technical knowledge and creativity in electrical engineering.
The society connects theory with real-world applications through workshops, seminars, project exhibitions, competitions and interactive activities, while encouraging exploration of power systems, electrical machines, power electronics, control systems, renewable energy and emerging technologies.
GCE Keonjhar is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of engineers and innovators through an academic environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking and technical excellence.
The department focuses on technically skilled, innovative and responsible engineers through strong fundamentals, practical exposure and opportunities to explore emerging technologies.

Vidyuttam is a technical event organized by the Innovatory Electrical Society to bring together innovation, technical knowledge, creativity and competitive spirit.
Participants transform theoretical knowledge into practical solutions through technical competitions, challenges, projects, quizzes and hands-on activities. The event encourages students to think beyond textbooks, experiment with ideas, solve real-world problems and develop teamwork, communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
